Media Advisory: Watershed Protection Partnership to Be Announced at May 25 News Confernce

Wheaton, IL – DuPage County, the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District, the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County and the DuPage River Salt Creek Workgroup are entering into a watershed protection partnership to preserve and enhance the quality of streams and rivers throughout the region, not constrained by governmental boundaries. The partnership agreement promotes collaboration among the agencies to reduce governmental redundancy, enhance environmental protection and increase flood control throughout the region, all while reducing overall costs. Following this innovative partnership signing ceremony will be a tour of the cooperative restoration project at Oak Meadows Golf Course. 

WHO: DuPage County Board Chairman Dan Cronin, Metropolitan Water Reclamation District President Mariyana Spyropoulos, Forest Preserve District of DuPage County President Joe Cantore and DuPage River Salt Creek Workgroup President Dave Gorman

WHAT: News conference announcing a watershed protection partnership between the agencies. A ceremonial signing and walking tour of the cooperative restoration project at Oak Meadows Golf Course will follow the announcement.

WHEN: Wednesday, May 25 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

WHERE: The news conference and signing ceremony will take place in the banquet room at Maple Meadows Golf Course (272 Addison Road, Wood Dale, IL 60191). A walking tour of the restoration project at Oak Meadows Golf Course across the street will follow.
