Fullersburg Woods Lighting and Electrical Improvements
The Forest Preserve District is proposing new parking lot and site lighting improvements for Fullersburg Woods Forest Preserve in Oak Brook. The preserve is home to the Fullersburg Nature Education Center, Graue Mill, Graue House, and Ben Fuller House. Programming at Fullersburg Woods includes evening events like the popular Halloween Walks and events at Graue House, which will benefit from the addition of site lighting improvements. Project Funding
The District budgeted $240,000 for the project, which will be funded from the District’s Construction and Development Fund and Capital Improvement/Repair or Replacement Fund.Current Status
The project was released for bid in May 2016, and a contract was awarded for construction at the June 21, 2016 Commission meeting.
The scope of the project will include:
• Parking lot lights for the York Road and Spring Road parking lots
• Streets lights along the entry drive from Spring Road
• Area lighting between York Road parking lot and Graue Mill
• Sign lighting for the Spring Road entrance monument sign
Construction of the proposed improvements are anticipated to be completed by winter 2016.
