Hidden Lake Forest Preserve Picnic Shelter
Beginning in spring 2016, the Forest Preserve District will construct a 50-person picnic shelter in the existing 1-acre picnic area at Hidden Lake Forest Preserve
in Downers Grove. The 24-foot by 36-foot shelter will accommodate six picnic tables and contain two fixed grills, one of which will be an accessible grill. This shelter will be near the preserve’s other amenities — a flush washroom and 49-car parking lot — and offer scenic views of Round Meadow Lake.
Hidden Lake Forest Preserve offers multipurpose trails, fishing and picnicking.
The District’s capital development fund will cover the $175,000 project, including its design, permitting and construction.
The District awarded the construction contract for this project in January 2016 and expects site construction activities to begin in spring, with anticipated completion in summer 2016. Click here
