Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy their favorite open-air activities in just about any of DuPage's forest preserves. Visitors can try birding, camping, fishing, picnicking, cross-country skiing, ice skating, ice fishing, snow tubing or just hiking through the woods – click on the links below or check our quarterly publication, The DuPage Conservationist, and Visitor's Guide for details. Activities such as boating, camping, model aircraft flying and model boating require a permit, which can be obtained by mail, phone or at the District's headquarters at least 3 business days in advance.
